What is the Answer?

We are all familiar with the common problem among us; world hunger. This doesn’t have to happen in foreign countries in order for it to be an issue. On a more personal level, Redding California is well known for the large community of homeless people and underprivileged families. You see, People have a mindset that you can only be starving if you’re homeless. This is a valid, but incorrect answer. There are so many families that are barely getting by and don’t have enough to provide their families with proper nourishment. You might ask, how do I know this? Well, my family has been victims of financial struggles. We know the struggle of not being able to make ends meet. This is my main motivation for wanting to help others conquer their hunger.

What is the answer to killing this hunger problem? KINDNESS. It's as simple as that. For every act that you do out of the kindness of your heart, a life will be changed. Never underestimate the power of your actions! One meal might just be enough for a person to get through to the next day!

This concept, if used, has the power to change the world. Jimi Hendrix put it this way, "When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the word will know peace." Love and kindness goes hand in hand. You cannot have one without the other! Such a simple concept holds so much power.

Kindness has the domino effect, meaning that what one person does inspires the next person to get involved and when they do they have the same effect, and it goes on and on!

Changing the world starts with YOU. Remember that your kindness and compassion towards the needs of the people around us can change the world, one person at a time.

  1. It sounds like you are going to perform random acts of kindness? Is that what I am reading? That is a wonderful idea and it is a much needed attribute in this town and in these troubled time (I'm thinking of terrorism when I say "troubled times"). I'd like to see you have a goal of a # of acts of kindness per week or day, as you prefer. It will be so cool to read about your experiences!

  2. You have definitely identified a major problem. But, what is your action plan? What specifically are your goals? What are you trying to accomplish, and what will you have to show at the end of the project? Do you have a mentor?

    1. My action plan is to complete a number of acts per week, and eventually (my long term goal) to create a food drive that is open to the community. I am trying to make a push for recognizing the needs of our comminuty and actually doing somethig about it. At the end of my project i hope to have an organized food clost to comply to the needs of our community. My mentor will be my Mother, who will be helping me accomplish these goals.
